Faye Anna Cantler Cox of North East died Monday, January 13. She was 83. She was born November 13, 1930 in Rising Sun, daughter of Hugh and Etta Cantler. She moved to North East when she was six and spent the rest of her life there.
Mrs. Cox was an avid reader and loved to garden. She also enjoyed baseball, especially watching the Orioles on television. She was a secretary for the PTA, cookie chairman for the Girl Scouts and Brownies, and den mother for the Cub Scouts. She was a chaperone for North East High School cheerleaders, and made brownies for fundraisers. Mrs. Cox enjoyed talking about World War II days when she was a volunteer for the Airplane Spotters Post after school. She was married to Kelsey Cox for 58 years. She is survived by three children, Holly Beth Rollins, Kelsey Allen Cox, and Lisa Allison King, three grandchildren, Kyle Bowers, Casey Bowers Warrington, and Andrew Cox, and four great grandchildren, Maggie Smith, Murphy Smith, Annie Warrington, and Elliott Bowers. Visitation will be held at Crouch Funeral Home Saturday, January 18 from 10 a.m. to noon with a funeral service at noon. Burial will be private.
