Elizabeth R. Hilaman of Rising Sun died January 18, 2014 at Calvert Manor Healthcare Center. She was 94. Born on April 5, 1919 in West Chester, Pa., she was the daughter of the late A. Brinton and Mary Cloud Reynolds. She graduated in 1943 from Erlham College in Richmond, Indiana with a degree in Home Economics. She was active in many organizations, among them Calvert Grange, Calvert PTA, and Rosebank United Methodist Church. She was a homemaker and secretary/treasurer for Hilaman Milling, Inc. She is survived by three sons, Charles R. Hilaman and wife Eleanor of Nottingham, Pa., Robert L. Hilaman and wife Theresa of Elkton, and James E. Hilaman and wife Betsy of Colora; and three daughters, Mary Beth Bickel and husband Harry of Airville, Pa., Debbie Pierce of Newark, Del., and Susan Vadala and husband Leo of Bowie; 19 grandchildren and 31 great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, C. Raymond Hilaman; two brothers and a sister. A service honoring her life will be held Wednesday January 22, 2014 at 11 a.m. at Rosebank United Methodist Church with a visitation beginning at 10 a.m. Burial will be Thursday, January 23 at 11 a.m. at Oxford Cemetery.
