Eileen May Leonzio of Chesapeake City died Wednesday, August 7, 2013 surrounded by her loving family. She was 71. She was born in England on February 26, 1942, daughter of the late Kathleen and Ronald Watts. She lived most of her adult life in the United States and the last 26 years in Chesapeake City, in her home, lovingly referred to as “Wedge Cottage”. Mrs. Leonzio enjoyed life to the fullest and enjoyed sewing, gardening, traveling, breeding and showing her bulldogs and her many family pets. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family and friends.
She is survived by her husband of 37 years, Larry Leonzio; son, Bernie Alimenti (Tracey) of Jensen Beach, Fla.; three daughters, Lisa Leonzio (Michael) of Fair Hill, Linda Harkness of Reading, Pa. and Kathy McLaughlin (Brian) of Elkton; four grandchildren, Kelsey Harkness, Abbey Harkness, Erica Alimenti and Nicholas Bibs; great grandson, Nolan Alimenti; brother, Patrick Watts (Bridget) of England. In addition to her parents, Eileen was preceded in death by her son, David Ronald Leonzio. A service honoring her life was held at Friday, August 9, 2013 from R.T. Foard Funeral Home, P.A., 259 E. Main St., Elkton, MD 21921. Burial was in Bethel Cemetery, Chesapeake City. Memorial contributions may be made payable to the Fox Chase Cancer Center and sent to the funeral home.
