Edward D. Frederick of Port Deposit died Wednesday July 30, 2014 at Harford Memorial Hospital. He was 81. Born in Frankstown, Pa., on November 19, 1932, he was the son of the late Charles and Carrie Frederick. Mr. Frederick retired from the Hatem Memorial Bridge as Toll Facilities Officer. He was a Maryland DHIA Milk Tester for over 35 years. He drove school bus for Cecil County for more than 10 years and enjoyed this job very much. Mr. Frederick loved attending Baltimore Orioles and Aberdeen IronBird games and was an avid fan. A Board Member of the Cecil County Fair for 15 years, the week of the fair was the highlight of his summers.
He enjoyed bowling and was a member of a league in Aberdeen. Family gatherings were a big part of his life. He was an active member of the Rising Sun Fire Police, Ebenezer UM Church and Lion’s Club. He loved his family pets. He is survived by his sons David Frederick of Newark, Del., James Frederick of Rising Sun; daughters Janet Rawlings of Havre de Grace, and Becky Anderson of Nottingham, Pa., grandchildren, Rachael and Katie Rawlings; great-grandchildren, Gabriella and Rosemaria Diaz, and Nicholas Rawlings; along with his sisters, Mary Burke, Jane Hopkins, Alice Sunseni, and Ruth Kirkum. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Ila, and brothers Tom Murren and Richard Frederick. Friends and family may visit from 6-8 p.m. on Sunday August 3, 2014 and one hour prior to the service on Monday at the funeral home. A service honoring his life will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday August 4, at R.T. Foard Funeral Home, P.A., 111 South Queen St., Rising Sun, MD 21911.
