Edna M. “Peg” Holton, 91, of Oxford, Pa., died at home Sunday, May 4, 2014. She was 91. Born in West Grove, Pa., she was the daughter of the late John P and Ida DeSilva Holton. She retired from Bell Telephone as an operator and was a member of Telephone Pioneers of America. During World War II she worked at Bainbridge Naval Training Center in the ammunition division. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Oxford. Ms. Holton was devoted to her family, especially her nieces and nephews, and enjoyed spending time with her friends. She enjoyed taking trips with her nieces and nephews who have many fond memories of those times spent with her.
She is survived by one sister, Jean H. Andress of Oxford; 10 nieces and nephews; 12 great nieces and nephews; and 13 great-great nieces and nephews She was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Holton; a half-brother, Pennock Holton; and a half-sister, Helen H. Hasseltine. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, May 9 at the First Baptist Church, 522 Market St., Oxford, Pa., where friends and family may visit from 10:30-11 a.m. Burial will be in Oxford Cemetery.
