Edna Lee Stike of Rising Sun died Tuesday, March 6, 2018 at All Care Assisted Living, Port Deposit. She was 91. Mrs. Stike was born in Floyd, Va. on May 8, 1926, to Hobart Guthrie and Clara Lawson, with her stepfather, Jesse Lawson becoming a part of her life as a child. She was educated in Cecil County and had an extensive work history, working during World War II making gas masks at Edgewood Arsenal, Discount and Credit Corp in Wilmington, Del., and retiring after 26 years serving the veterans at Perry Point VA Medical Center in the Patient Funds Department. She was very involved with her family, and adored her grand and great grandchildren. Mrs. Stike was a member of Perryville Baptist Church. She is survived her son, Mark Stike and his wife, Terrie of Fair Hill; three grandchildren, Dr. Aaron B. Stike and his wife, Dr. Reagan Stike of Midland, Tex., Joshua M. Stike and his wife Ginger of Nokesville, Va., and Katie L.E. Stike of Cedar Park, Tex.; five great grandchildren, Stella and Calvin Stike both of Nokesville, Va., Hayden, Ainsley and Leyton Stike all of Midland, Tex.
Mrs. Stike had nine siblings and is survived by two sisters: Betty Stuart and Peggy Campbell, both of Rising Sun. There are also numerous beloved nieces and nephews, all part of the extended family. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Stike was also preceded in death by her former husband, Horace in 2010. Funeral service, conducted by Rev. John Gaugher, will be held Friday, March 9, 2018 at 11 a.m. at Crouch Funeral Home, P.A., 127 South Main Street, North East, with visitation on Thursday evening, from 6-9 p.m. Burial will follow services in Brookview Cemetery, Rising Sun.
