Charles Frederick Narvel of Havre de Grace, formerly of Port Deposit, died Monday, March 17, 2014 in Citizens Care Center of Havre de Grace. He was 97. Born January 3, 1917 in Pilottown, he was the son of the late Frederick and Martha Jane Dempsey Narvel. Mr. Narvel was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served during World War II. He retired from Aberdeen Proving Ground in 1974 following 28 years of service as a mechanical engineering technician. He was a member of the Jerry Skrivanek V.F.W. Post No. 8185 of Port Deposit. Mr. Narvel is survived by his son, Charles P. Narvel of West Virginia; daughter, Rose A. Foy of Havre de Grace; three grandchildren; and four great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Mr. Narvel was preceded in death by his wife, Lillian L. Narvel. Funeral services are scheduled for Friday, March 21, 2014, noon, at the Lee A. Patterson & Son Funeral Home, P.A., Perryville. Visitation for family and friends will be held Friday, March 21, 2014, 10 a.m. to noon, at the funeral home prior to the funeral service. Pastor Michael A. Caldwell of Asbury United Methodist Church, Port Deposit, will officiate. Burial will be in Hopewell Cemetery, Port Deposit. Comments are closed.
