Carolyn Boyd Meekins of North East died Wednesday, November 4, 2015 in Union Hospital, Elkton. She was 69. Born in Rising Sun on November 17, 1945, she was the daughter of the late E.K. and the late Georgia (Duvall) Boyd. She was a medical secretary for 23 years for Perry Point VA Medical Center and for Drs. Hensgen, Moondra and Funican. Mrs. Meekins enjoyed spending time with her husband, Chris, her dogs and cats, family, friends and her “sister cousins”; the Black Katz Quilt Group, Delaware Applique’, Cecil Quilters and Ladybug Quilt Society. She enjoyed going to quilt shows, fabric shopping with friends and quilt shops.
Survivors include her husband of 42 years, Chris Meekins of North East; a sister, Barbara J. Hamilton and her husband David of Oxford, Pa.; a niece, Robin Zabel and her companion Wes; a nephew, Michael Hamilton and his wife Lori; and her great nieces and nephews, Kyle, Lucas and Kelly Zabel, Jennie and Callie Hamilton; and many cousins. Memorial service, conducted by Rev. Haan Phelps, will be held Monday, November 9, at 11 a.m. at Crouch Funeral Home, P.A., 127 South Main Street, North East, where the family will receive guests beginning at 10 a.m. until service time. Burial will follow services in North East Methodist Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, in care of the funeral home. Comments are closed.
