Beverlee Craig Neff, 89 yrs, of Perryville, MD, passed away peacefully Saturday, January 13, 2018 surrounded by family and friends. Born March 18, 1928 she was the daughter of the late Stanley C. and Beulah Mae Taylor Craig. Following graduation from the former Jacob Tome Institute of Port Deposit, MD, Beverlee became an employee of the Aberdeen Proving Ground of Aberdeen, MD. On June 17, 1950 Beverlee married the love of her life, Howard James Neff, and so their journey began. Beverlee chose to become a homemaker following the birth of her two children. She adored her family, especially her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, as well as her many nieces and nephews. Beverlee was also known as "The Boss Lady" and was very instrumental in day-to-day operations of the Perryville Oil Company and the Chesapeake View Campground and Farm. Beverlee was very active in the Perryville United Methodist Church. She served on many boards and committees and was the lead alto in the church choir. She was also very active in the Perryville United Methodist Church Women and contributed to the success of their famous pot pie luncheons. Beverlee is survived by her son, Randall Craig Neff and his wife, Michelle, of Perryville, MD; daughter, Shelby Neff Haley of Perryville, MD, and her significant other, Mitch Hurst, of Lancaster, PA; granddaughter, Leigh A. Haley and her significant other, Sean Martineau, of Perryville, MD; grandson, Todd A. Haley and his significant other, Antonia Adler, of Costa Mesa, CA; granddaughter, Megan L. Neff and her significant other, Rocky Peranio, of Westminster, MD; grandson, Jason C. Neff and his wife, Cassidi, of Lacey, WA; granddaughter, Jaime C. Haley and her significant other, Michael Merchant, of Perryville, MD; great-grandchildren, Teegan, Makayla, Rocky, Koby, Cali, Logan, Reed and Jaxon; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Beverlee was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Howard James; brothers, Stanley Craig, Joel Craig and Glenn Craig; sisters, Thelma Frederick, Elaine Neff, Vivian Charsha and Betty Anne McKay. Memorial contributions may be made to the Perryville United Methodist Church in care of the Lee A. Patterson & Son Funeral Home, P.A., P.O. Box 766, Perryville, MD 21903-0766 and/or the Ms. Thelma Frederick Scholarship in care of Dr. Riess Potterzeld of the Lancaster Theological Seminary, 555 W. James Street, Lancaster, PA 17603. In true Beverlee fashion, she selflessly donated her body to the Maryland State Anatomy Board. A memorial service is planned for Sunday, January 28, 2018, 2 PM, at the Perryville United Methodist Church. Visitation for family and friends will be held Sunday, January 28, 2018, 1PM until 2 PM, at the church prior to the memorial service. Comments are closed.
