Arthur Ellsworth Baker of North East died Monday, February 9, 2015, in the Perry Point VA Medical Center. He was 99. Born in Perryville on October 14, 1915, he was the son of the late Arthur E. and the late Edith (Smith) Baker. He was a graduate of the Tome School and served his country in the U.S. Army Artillery during World War II. Mr. Baker retired from Linton Industries, Beltsville, where he was a Data Manager.
He was a member of American Legion Post #135, Perryville, VFW Post #6027, North East, and the Coast Guard Auxiliary. He enjoyed football, baseball and boating. Mr. Baker is survived by his wife, Ruth F. Baker and a stepbrother, William Fay of Havre de Grace. Funeral services, conducted by Rev. Bert Jicha, will be held Saturday, February 14, at noon at Crouch Funeral Home, P.A., 127 South Main Street, North East, with visitation beginning at 11 a.m. until service time. Burial with military honors will follow in Asbury Cemetery, Port Deposit. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, in care of the funeral home. Comments are closed.
