Arnold A. Lovlie of Elkton died Monday, October 6, 2014. He was 80. Born near Windber, Pa., he was the son of the late Arnie M. and Mary E. Lantz Lovlie. Mr. Lovlie served in the U.S. Army as a paratrooper from 1956-1959, with tours in Germany and Lebanon. His working career included 31 years with Interstate Trucking Company, where he was a member of the Teamsters Union, and 23 years at Porter Chevrolet, Newark, Del. Mr. Lovlie is survived by his wife of 57 years, Mary Goss Lovlie; children, Matthew Lovlie and wife, Esther, Rodney Lovlie and wife, Michelle, Kelly Lovlie-Howe and husband, Dale, and Gena Lovlie-Hess and husband, Everett; grandchildren, Sara Lovlie and Carmon and Ayla Hess; siblings, Shirley Vaneiken and husband, Howard, Arnie J. Lovlie and wife, Mary, and Helen Dillon and husband, Jim; mother-in-law, Sara Goss; brother-in-law, Leroy Goss and wife, Barb; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Lovlie was preceded in death by his sister, Lila Horvath; brother, John Lovlie; and many beloved pets. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, October 18, at EverSpring Church, 1280 Porter Road, Bear, DE 19701. Burial will be private.
