Mark Dugger, age 48, of Conowingo, MD, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his loving family on Friday, September 7, 2018. A lifelong resident of Conowingo, he was born on January 19, 1970. Mark graduated from Rising Sun High School in 1988 and RETS Technical School in 1990. He was employed by Armstrong in Rising Sun, MD for over 28 years, working as a line technician and engineer. Mark enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time on the beach at the Outer Banks. His favorite past time was watching the Baltimore Orioles. Marks most cherished moments were spent with his family and friends. Shirley A. Biggers, 67 of North East, MD, died Thursday, September 6, 2018 in the Laurelwood Care Center, Elkton, MD.
Born in Elkton, on May 26, 1951, she was the daughter of the late Charles Sr. and Ethel Phoebe (Church) Stewart. She was the wife of the late William Alvin “Alley” Biggers. Shirley retired after many years of service as a cashier at Petro and Liberty Bell Truck Stops. She is survived by one son: Chucky Ewing of North East, MD; her siblings: Barbara Daniels and Eugene R. Stewart both of North East, MD; 3 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Versie Hamilton, age 71 of Conowingo, MD passed away on September 5, 2018. She was born on December 20, 1946 in Manchester, KY to the late Johnny Jackson and Addie (Collett) Jackson. Versie was an active member of Wrightsdale Baptist Church. She enjoyed the fellowship and support that the church brought to her life. Versie had a passion for exploring flea markets and attending yard sales to find the best deals. She also enjoyed relaxing at the beach. Versie is survived by her loving husband of 52 years, Bobby Hamilton; son, John D. Hamilton and his wife, Michelle; grandchild, Ashley M. Phipps; numerous nieces and nephews; four step-grandchildren: Harlan, Hunter and Joshua Russell and Samantha Wood and her husband, Robert; and two step-greatgrandchildren: Benny and Lily Wood. Yvonne Blakeley, age 82 of Rising Sun, MD passed away on Monday, September 3, 2018 at Union Hospital in Elkton, MD. Born February 5, 1936 in Hinton, WV, Yvonne was the daughter of the late Walter and Gladys Stevens. Yvonne devoted her life to her faith and family and was a very dedicated wife, mother and grandmother. She was a member of the Blythedale Seventh-day Adventist Church in Perryville, MD where she attended with her husband, Wilbur. Yvonne was a retired sewing machine operator who worked for several textile companies, most notable for Fawn Grove in Rising Sun, MD. |
