Opal Grace Goad, age 89 of Rising Sun, MD, passed away July 2, 2018. She was born in Ashe County, NC on December 10, 1928 to the late William Jackson Keys and Lona Margaret (Miller) Keys. Opal was a seamstress at Fawn Grove Manufacturing in Rising Sun, MD for over 30 years. She was also a life-long member of Nottingham Missionary Baptist Church. Opal especially loved reading her Bible and in life was completely devoted to her faith and family. Opal is survived by her son, Ronald “Butch” Goad; son, Leonard M. Goad and his wife Laura Jane; granddaughters, Mandy Goad Schuman; Holly Geer; and Megin Ashley; grandson, Mike E. Goad; great-grandsons David Wayne Shuman, Jr.; Kevin Edward Schuman; and Isaac Ford; great-granddaughters, Emily Greer; and Miranda Greer. She is also survived by three brothers and one sister. Thomas Tip Hall, Jr., 64 of Elkton, MD, passed away Tuesday, June 26, 2018 in Elkton, MD. Born in Havre De Grace, MD, on April 27, 1954, he was the son of the late Thomas Tip and Alfrenda (Walls) Hall, Sr. Mr. Tom was the owner and operator of his own lawn care service. He was a gifted builder, specializing in concrete, houses and bridges. As a foreman for M.A. Bongiovanni, Inc. in Syracuse, New York, he helped build many wastewater treatment plants in the surrounding areas. |
