Steven D. Landbeck, 74, died March 26, 2017 after a long battle with Parkinson’s disease at Christiana Care Hospital, Newark, Delaware. Mr. Landbeck is survived by his beloved wife of 38 years, Linda (Anderson) Landbeck; his daughter, Dana Andrews, her husband Michael Andrews and his granddaughter, Chloe Paige Andrews, his mother, Billie D. Landbeck; his brother, John S. Landbeck, Jr. and his wife, Sandra; his brother, Ronald O. Landbeck and his wife, Joyce; and numerous nieces and nephews. Donald L. Simpers Jr., 63, of Oxford, passed away on Tuesday March 21, 2017, of lung cancer at Neighborhood Hospice, West Chester, with his family by his side. Donald was a lifelong resident of Oxford. He was the son of the late Donald L. Simpers Sr. and Barbara Davis Simpers. Brandon Reese Ewing, 31 of Elkton, MD, died Thursday, March 30, 2017 at home.
Born in Havre de Grace, MD, on October 29, 1985, he was the son of Heather (Kaye) Ford of North East, MD and the late Donald G. Ewing, Jr. Brandon, a Concrete Finisher, employed by Highland Construction, enjoyed riding motorcycles and fishing. Joseph Fred Sexton, Jr., age 67 while at home in the presence of angels and his loving family departed this life to join his Savior on March 30, 2017. His final days were spent surrounded by family and friends that Joe had touched in some small way throughout his memorable life. The oldest of five children, he was born in Havre de Grace on August 22, 1949 to Joseph Fred and Dorothy (Carter) Sexton. During his lifetime Joe was known for his superior physical strength and kind, gentle spirit. It was that strength, spirit and his dimples that attracted Deborah to this “gentle giant”. Married for forty years Joe and Debbie were united in holy matrimony on September 18, 1976. They have been the proud parents of a son and daughter. In his earlier years Joe worked as a millwright and used his unmatched skills as a carpenter to build a home for his family-one that was always filled with laughter-mostly due to Joe’s orneriness. His special interests and hobbies included shooting trap, fishing, hunting (how much was that fine again?) and collector of knives. Over the past twenty-two years Joe has enjoyed membership at the Oxford Gun Club. His favorite things were spending time with his children and grand-children, all of whom he adored; and coffee. The height and breadth of Joe’s love for his family and the many ways he tenderly displayed his love was far greater than words can express. Equally, the love of Joe’s immediate and extended family for him always has been and continues to be immeasurable. And yes, Wawa has lost a very loyal customer. John Wesley McCloud, II, age 74, of Elkton, MD passed away after a short bout with an aggressive brain tumor on March 30, 2017, surrounded by his family. John was born in Seminole, OK on April 13, 1942 to the late Charles Wesley McCloud and Okla Geneva (McGehee) McCloud. John was a 1960 graduate of Newark High School and a 1965 graduate of the University of Delaware, where he obtained a degree in Electrical Engineering. He obtained his Masters in Electrical Engineering from Drexel University. He retired from DuPont where he worked as an Electrical Engineer. He taught briefly for Cecil College. John loved riding his 1942 Ford tractor, wine making, fishing, and yardwork. He was especially proud of his accomplishment of being awarded the Distinguished Rifleman Badge, the 852nd civilian to earn the award since its inception in 1884. He also enjoyed listening to a wide variety of music, especially Pink Floyd. |
