Marsha D. DeMond of North East died at home Thursday, April 10, 2014. She was 72.
Born in Wasseon, Ohio, on February 16, 1942, she was the daughter of the late John L. and the late Martha (Rothenberger) DuBois. She retired from the Cecil County Activity Center where she worked as an instructor. George Benjamin Griffin, Sr. died at home Monday, April 7, 2014. He was 79. Born March 22, 1935 he was the son of the late Benjamin and Lucille Griffin. Mr. Griffin worked at Peach Bottom, Pa., for 14 years. He was a General Foreman at Bechtel Nuclear Power Plant for 24 years. Mr. Griffin is survived by his five children, Tyrone Griffin, Tanya Honesty, Terri Griffin, George Griffin, Jr., and Melvin Griffin; six grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; sister, Ruth Ann Nocho Lee; two sisters-in-law; three brothers-in-law; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Linda Darlene Crawford, of Felton, Delaware, died on Sunday, April 6, 2014 at her home. She was 56. She was born in Ann Grove, PA, on October 25, 1957, daughter of the late Earl H. and the late Nora Eva Waugh Crawford. Ms. Crawford is survived by her sister, Sharon Webb, of Felton and a brother, Joseph M. Crawford, of North East; and many nieces and nephews, whom she greatly enjoyed. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by four brothers, Charles W., Earl R., Leland D. Crawford and John D. Danneman. Friends can call at the Crouch Funeral Home, P.A. in North on Wednesday, April 9 from 1 to 2 p.m. Services will be held immediately following at 2 p.m. Burial will be in Gilpin Manor Memorial Park in Elkton. Thomas Franklin Hayden of Conowingo died at home Saturday, April 5, 2014. He was 82. Born November 9, 1931in Marion, Va., he was the son of the late Henry and Virgie Rowland Hayden. Mr. Hayden was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Elkton, and was retired from General Motors of Wilmington, Del. Mr. Hayden loved God, his family and friends. Hazel Jane Baker of Port Deposit died at home Wednesday, April 2, 2014. She was 86.
Born February 26, 1928 in Tioga, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late James and Mabel Black Hensel. Mrs. Baker was formerly employed as a nurse by Father Martin’s Ashley of Havre de Grace. Frances L. Blevins, of Rising Sun, died Wednesday, April 2, 2014, in the Seasons Hospice & Palliative Care at Christiana Hospital in Newark, Delaware. She was 77.
Mrs. Blevins was born in Virginia on February 14, 1937, daughter of the late Arie and the late Hester Phipps Blevins. She worked as a caregiver for the elderly. She enjoyed working with the Ray of Hope Mission and reading her Bible. She also enjoyed going yard-saling. Chrissy L. Ely Taylor of Oxford died Monday, March 31, 2014 at Jennersville Regional Hospital, West Grove, Pa. She was 38.
Born in West Chester, Pa. she was the daughter of Dorothy A. Ely of Oxford and the late Angelo Cato. She was employed with Giant Food Stores in Jennersville for eight years. |
