Alice J. Tarr of Elkton died Friday, May 31, 2013. She was 67. She was born April 6, 1946 in Ithaca, N.Y. to Howard and Mary (Schoolfield) Jennings. She was a substitute teacher for Cecil County Public Schools, she counseled head injury patients at the Hartfeld House in Pa., and she was the director of the Settlement House for approximately 10 years in Elkton. Recently, she was employed at the Cecil County Health Department and taught G.E.D. classes at the Cecil Community College. She was a member of Rock Presbyterian Church where she was an officer and active with various committees. She was a friendly and caring person who loved her dogs and animals of all kinds. She is survived by her two sons, Dave Tarr and his wife, Ronnie of Cheltenham, and Steven M. Tarr and his wife, Dawn of Abilene, Kansas; and three grandchildren, Nicki, Brandon, and Sierra Tarr.
A service honoring her life was held Wednesday, June 5, 2013 at Rock Presbyterian Church, Elkton. Burial was in Sharps Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society in care of R.T. Foard Funeral Home, 259 E. Main St., Elkton, MD 21921. Comments are closed.
