UPDATE: Police have identified the suspect s Joseph Patrick Garvey, 34, of Nottingham, Pa. He is a white male, 6-feet tall, 175 pounds.He is wanted for robbery in Lancaster County, Pa.
Calvert Elementary School and Rising Sun High School are still on lockdown while police continue to search for a suspect who fled following a traffic stop this morning.
At approximately 5:15 a.m., DFC Bryan Shockey conducted a traffic stop on a 2003 Ford Focus in the area of Route 272 northbound near Wheatley Road. After DFC. Shockey approached the vehicle, the driver sped away.
DFC. Shockey began to pursue the vehicle. The vehicle continued northbound on Route 273 until it crashed in the wood line near Brick Meeting House Road. DFC. Shockey was assisted by other deputies, Maryland State Troopers, Maryland State Police Aviation Unit, and the New Castle County, Delaware Police K-9 unit during a search for the suspect. The search is continuing.
Since schools opened this morning ,both Calvert Elementary and Rising Sun High have been on "Code Yellow", a precaution when an incident occurs near a school. Sgt. Scott Adams, supervisor of the School Resource Deputy program, was at Calvert Elementary for much of the morning. Sgt. Adams and another deputy worked at the school because visitors were in the building for the annual Grandparents Day. "There have been no issues. It worked out fine," said Sgt. Adams.

K-9 unit, a helicopter, and backup units from two different agencies and still couldn't find him? The police around here are useless!!!!!
