The sweet sound of summertime.
There is free music offered in three locations during July and August.
Every Sunday in July and August, Summer Music in the Park will be held at Pell Gardens, Chesapeake City from 6-8 p.m.
Performers scheduled to appear are:
July 13 - Charlie Hitman, July 20 - Mikey Junior, July 27 - The New Direction Band, August 3 - Day Tripper, August 10 - Acoustic Jam, August 17 - 21 Horses, August 24 - Summit Hill Bluegrass, and August 31 - Larry Tucker Band.

Sundays will soon be a lot more entertaining in North East.
Weekly, from July 13 through August 17, the Summer Music Concert series is returning to North East Town Park. The concerts will run from 5:30-7:30 p.m. each night.
This is a family event. Those who attend are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or blankets for sitting and snacks.
July 13 will feature rockin' country music with Mason Dixon Band. On July 20, The Rivers Rockabilly Trio will play rockabilly. Singer/songwriter Charlie Hitman performs on July 27. Second String provides light rock music on August 3. Daytripper will play top 40 on August 10. Bluetrain provides bluegrass on August 17.
This event is a partnership between the Cecil County Arts Council and the following organizations: The Town of North East, NBRS Bank, North East Chamber of Commerce, Delmarva Power, Tidewater Tattoo, and Union Hospital Foundation.
In Downtown Elkton, the Music on Main and Downtown Car Shows, entertainment are back for another season.
Music on Main is held Thursdays from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at the corner of North and Main streets.
The Witch Doctors will perform on July 10. Gang of Two will perform July 17.
Scott Wells and the 55s will perform on July 24. That is also a Downtown Car Show night. Johnny Never will perform on July 31. Tree Walker is slated for First Friday on August 1. Acts are pending for both August 7 and August 21. The Dave Moore Band will provide music on August 14.
The Sensations will perform oldies during the August 28 Downtown Car Show. Pearl Street performs September 4. The Elkton High School Marching Band will perform at First Friday on September 5, Swing City Band will be in town on September 11. Chain Reaction performs September 18. Plan B performs at First Friday on October 3.
The Elkton Chamber/Alliance has scheduled the Downtown Car Shows for 2014.
This year, the shows will be held the fourth Thursday of each month from 5-8 p.m. Parking is available after 3 p.m. Registration for car owners ends at 6:30 p.m.
The remaining show dates are July 24, and August 28.
