Still no candidates for some elected offices

With seven months until the primary election, several of the seats up for grabs have no candidates.
No one has filed for the District/Circuit 3 and 4 and 5 Board of Education posts. No one has filed for County Council District/Circuit seats in districts 2 and 3. Michael W. 'Good Mike' Dawson, a Republican, has filed for County Council District/Circuit 4. There are no candidates as yet for State's Attorney.
The race for Cecil County Sheriff continues to draw candidates. Democratic sheriff candidates are Guy Miller and Bilton Dwayne Morgan.
Republican sheriff candidates are Scott Adams, Chip Peterson, Dan Slater, and Christopher Sutton, Sr.
Incumbent Clerk of the Circuit Clerk Derrick W. Lowe, a Republican, has filed. Democratic incumbent Register of Wills Allyn "Lyn" Price Nickle has filed for another term.
Dawson, has filed for a seat on the Republican Central Committee. He has also filed for State Senator for District/Circuit 35.
No one has filed for the Democratic Central Committee.
The primary will be held June 24. Offices up for election are governor/Lt. governor, comptroller, attorney general, state senate, house of delegate, county council district circuit 2, county council district circuit 3, county council district circuit 4, state's attorney, clerk of the court, register of wills, judge of the orphan's court, sheriff, board of education district circuit 3, board of education district circuit 4, board of education district circuit 5, and central committee. The general election is set for November 4, 2014.
As of September, there were 23,512 registered democrats in the county. There are 24,080 registered republicans. Votes who are unaffiliated totals 12,837. There are 251 registered libertarians, 132 in the green party, and eight registered in the American party.
