Two people were taken to Union Hospital following a motor vehicle accident on Route 272, near Calvert, on Tuesday, September 22 about 4:30 p.m.
Route 272 was closed for a few hours as a result of the crash.
Master Trooper John Feaster reported that Bobby Joe Moretz, 51, of Lumber Mill Lane, Elkton, was driving a 2000 Sterling tractor with an attached trailer hauling timber.
The second vehicle was a 2004 Ford F450 truck, driven by Roudie Henry Harrison, 29, of North East. Harrison and a passenger in his work vehicle sustained minor injuries.
Following the crash, Moretz climbed out of the cab of the truck and began marking and cutting up the trees with a chainsaw. That cut up timber was then transferred to another truck.
Moretz was cited for driving off the roadway while passing a vehicle.
County medics and volunteers from the Community Fire Company of Rising Sun worked at the scene.
