Cecil County Sheriff's Office deputies continue to investigate the murder of a man in the Elkton area last night.
On Wednesday, September 24 at about 10:30 p.m., deputies responded to the 400 block of Appleton Road, Elkton, for a shots fired complaint.
Upon arrival, deputies found a male victim near a residence suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Deputies determined that the victim had fled the area where the shooting occurred after he was shot.
This victim was transported to Christiana Hospital, Newark for treatment.
Deputies then responded to a home in the unit block of Swallow Lane, off Appleton Road, Elkton. At the home on Swallow Lane, deputies found a male victim who was deceased from an apparent gunshot wound. That victim was taken to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Baltimore, where an autopsy will be performed to determine the cause of death.
Investigators from the Cecil Sheriff's Office are working the case. The identity of the victims is being withheld pending notification of family members. Investigators believe that the victims were targeted. There have been no arrests at this time concerning this incident.
