Six people including five elementary school students were transported to the hospital for treatment of minor injuries Monday morning following a collision involving a school bus in Perryville.
Perryville police said the collision occurred in the 1500 block of Frenchtown Road.
Perryville police officer Huffstutler reported the school bus, owned by Marshall Bus Company, collided into the rear of a trash truck. The bus was occupied by 10 students, police said. The school bus was headed to Bainbridge Elementary School, CCPS spokesperson Kelly Keeton said.
Police reported five of the students and the driver of the trash truck were transported to the hospital "as a precaution".
The driver of the school bus, Kyle Harris of Rising Sun, was cited for traffic charges relating to the collision.
