This year's annual Cecil County Farm Museum car, truck, tractor and equipment show will likely offer some surprises.
And you will have double the opportunity to see it.
Ben Haines, who is organizing the event this year, said the third annual show has been expanded to two days instead of the typical one day. It will be held from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. on both Saturday, June 3 and Sunday, June 4. "It's been expanded to two days so we can get more exposure. Every year the show gets bigger," said Haines.
There will be several other events going on that weekend. Haines said the two day show will offer both those who have cars, trucks, and tractors to attend at least one of the days. "Some come and go. Especially the cars. We can't be two places at once," said Haines.
"If all holds to the promises, we will have antique working machinery. We may have a hot air water pump and there will be some different types of engines. If people offer something we say "heck yeah, bring it."
The show will be held at the Cecil County Farm Museum grounds, 912 Appleton Road, Elkton. Both breakfast and lunch foods will be available for purchase. An ice cream vendor is also expected to be on site.
The show will also give visitors an opportunity to see how things are shaping up at the CCFM.
According to Haines, the long term goal is to have the existing barn, silo, and corn crib on the property to serve as a working farm. Work has been underway on and off since 2015. "We've made a lot of progress but it's been slow," Haines added.
