A Port Deposit woman has been charged after police say she was under the influence of methadone and caused a three vehicle accident.
The crash occurred on Tuesday, September 26 shortly after 11 a.m. at Firetower Road and Tome Highway, Port Deposit.
Amanda Sexton, 33, of Port Deposit, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, operating a vehicle while under the influence of a controlled dangerous substance, negligent driving, and failure to control speed to avoid a collision. She told TFC Aycock from Maryland State Police that she had taken methadone prior to the crash.
Two people, the driver and passenger in a pick up truck, which was hit from both front and behind in the chain reaction crash, were taken to Harford Memorial Hospital by Water Witch Fire Company ambulance. The accident also shut down traffic on Tome Highway and backed up traffic to Sale Barn Road.
