Maryland State Police are investigating the death of a 51-year-old man who was found along a main road in Cecil County.
Mark T. Grubbs, of Wheeler School Road, Pylesville, was pronounced dead at the scene.
At approximately 2:40 a.m. on Friday, July 5, troopers from the North East barracks were called to U.S. Route 1 in the area of the Conowingo Dam for a report of a man lying in the roadway. Once on the scene, troopers saw the man in the road and attempted to resuscitate him. Emergency responders pronounced him dead at the scene.
Initially, troopers believed that Grubbs was involved in a motor vehicle collision. Upon further investigation, the injuries to Grubbs lead investigators to believe his death may not have resulted from a motor vehicle crash.
