There's no better sign of progress than the roll off dumpster at the entrance to the former Madison House on Route 40 in North East.
After being closed for years, there are plans to reopen the restaurant by Jim Bomba. The building which has been both Nottingham's and the Madison House, and Bomba's broasted chicken, has a rich history. In 2008, the building was home to North East Racing and Sports Club. It's been closed for at least seven years.
Last summer, Bomba approached officials at the Town of North East. He stated that he wants to open a restaurant which will serve ribs and chicken.
There will be 210 seats, 40 will be on the deck, seasonally.
The facility already has an existing water allocation.
Bomba has applied for a building permit with the county. The approval process is underway.
