A Colora man has been arrested and charged with suspicion of driving under the influence following an accident on Friday afternoon, October 10, about 1:30 p.m.
TFC Charles Mylin reported that Aleksandre Dane Grubb, 22, of Canterbury Court, was driving eastbound on Liberty Grove Road in a Ford pick-up truck and allegedly did not abide by the red signal. The truck struck an SUV, driven by Steve Curry, age unavailable, of Pennsylvania. The SUV was southbound on Tome Highway.
Two passengers in Curry's vehicle, including a child, were taken to the hospital from the scene by volunteers from the Community Fire Company of Rising Sun.
TFC Mylin said that Grubb did not successfully complete field sobriety tests and was taken into custody. Grubb is also facing traffic charges. The accident remains under investigation by Maryland State Police. TFC Tassone and county paramedics assisted at the scene.
