Perryville's Community Activities Committee is up and running.
With just a single meeting under their belts, the half dozen committee members have big plans for their town. These plans will include traditional favorite events and new family fun.
Already two movie nights have been planned for this summer. There will also be a family tent camping night in the Perryville Community Park. A parade will also be held in September or October, bringing back a fall parade to the town to replace the former Autumn Fest parade.
Amanda Hickman, Perryville's economic development coordinator, also said that the entrances to town will get a permanent new look. New signs, made from either brick or stone, will be placed at the at the gateways to the town.
Perryville is also working on branding itself in new ways. New logos and letterhead are being introduced. One of the logos was taken by Hickman at the transient pier. The other logo is more traditional.
The Community Activities Committee will continue to fine-tune their plans during regular meetings.
