Connie Holley is on the move.
Holley, owner of Connie's Market formerly of North East, has a new location, new building, and hopefully, a new customer base to combine with her faithful following.
Holley has owned the business for five years, but not the building. She has now moved to the former Margie's Deli location at 505 Blue Ball Road at the entrance to Triumph Industrial Park.
"We have better parking. And we're not going to have groceries anymore, just our food," said Holley, regarding the changes.
As of last week, Holley was waiting for permits to open the new location.
The old location closed July 31. "I hope to be open within a week. We had targeted August 1 for the opening. We thought 5-10 days for the permits but that didn't happen," said Holley.
"Breakfast will be busier and Sundays we will be closed now," said Holley, who also plans to adjust the hours depending on the needs of the customers.
Those who are used to the staff at Connie's won't be disappointed. She said that so far, all eight staffers have made the move to the new location. "I'm very excited about it. A lot of the regulars say they will still come even though it's farther for them. Instead of every day, they will come one or two days a week," she said.
Those who want Connie's chicken will have to wait for it. Although the menu is the same at the new location, chicken won't be available until some time in the future.
Since the new business is at the entrance to the busy industrial Park, Holley expects that breakfast time will be busy.
Connie's will continue to have all homemade food - including salads and desserts. There may also be seating in the future. The former Margie's has a deck. Holley said that will be used for seating.
"Everything will be about the same. It's just a different place with better parking," added Holley.
She also plans to have a coupon for a free drink with the purchase of a large sub.
Connie's Market will be open Monday through Friday 6 a.m. until 7 p.m. and Saturdays from 7 a.m. until 6 p.m. The store hours are subject to change.
