Children at Nazarene Day Care Center are continuing to learn the power of pedaling.
For the 24th year, tikes on trikes rode to raise funds for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
The participants solicit pledges and donations from family and friends.
Nazarene Day Care Center, a ministry of the Rising Sun Church of the Nazarene, has generated over $35,000 for the hospital.
It remains a popular tradition.
"The older kids remember doing it and ask, "When are we going to ride bikes to help the sick children?," day care center director Carma Stanley said.
"They see the photos of the sick children and they can relate to that. They want to help so those kids will be able to ride bikes."
Stanley, in her third year as director, says the Trike-A-Thon is a valuable learning tool.
"Doing this teaches children the importance of helping people so when they get older they will continue to give back to the community and help others," said Stanley.
