Maryland's finest are working to feed the hungry.
The Maryland State Police have formed a partnership with the Maryland Food Bank. More than 780,000 Marylanders are currently food insecure, meaning that they lack consistent access to sufficient amounts of nutritious food and do not qualify for government assistance.
In an effort to help, Maryland State Police, through its statewide network of barracks, will conduct a food drive this month. September has been designated as Hunger Action Month in Maryland.
The North East barracks is a collection site. Anyone who would like to help, may take non-perishable items to the barracks, Pulaski Highway, North East. For more information regarding this campaign on the web go to www.mdfoodbank.org or call North East Barrack at 410-996-7800.
