A 22-year-old man has been taken into custody for a home invasion near North East on Tuesday morning, January 20.
Mark Daniel Madden was arrested hours after the incident, Maryland State Police said.
According to police, Madden forced his way into a home on Walden Ct. at 9:48 a.m. After displaying a pistol he had hidden in the waistband of his pants, Madden reportedly took the victim's purse and a small safe.
Troopers and Sheriff's Deputies, assisted by a police dog and a state police helicopter, began looking for Madden. They concentrated their search in the Lakeside Mobile Home Community and a nearby wooded area. They found him in a house in the 400 block of Champlain Rd. and took him into custody.
