There's plenty of Halloween fun planned for in and around Elkton.
This weekend, on Saturday, October 18, from 4-10 p.m. the annual Ghost Hunt and Bit of History will be held at Historic Elk Landing, Landing Lane. This event will be conducted by the Port Deposit Paranormal Society with assistance from the Paranormal Investigator Group of Maryland.
Admission to the event is $5 per person. Each group of attendees will spend about an hour in four different locations on the property. Hollingsworth House will not be included in the tour due to construction.
At each of the four stations, there will be Elk Landing history lessons and a hands-on ghost investigation.
Ticket purchase begins at 3 p.m. on event day. Time slots are filled in half hour increments from 4-10 p.m.
There is no guarantee that spirits will appear or make their presence known. In the event of inclement weather, this event will not be held.
Six days later, on Friday, October 24, the annual downtown Elkton Halloween Parade will be held. Line up for participants begins at 6:30 p.m. at the Howard Street parking lot. Individuals, groups, floats, bands, and pets are welcome.
