That collection box for unwanted prescription drugs outside Elkton Police Department has been a success.
So much so, that an average of 40 pounds per month of the unwanted drugs have been deposited in the box at the station on Railroad Avenue.
Now, the program is being expanded to provide a safety message. According to Michelle Henson, Administration Office Secretary for the Town of Elkton, a DVD player will be secured above the box. A public service announcement regarding addiction will be played on a loop as a way to educate people.
