The ballot has been finalized and there will be a race in North East.
Incumbent Mayor Robert McKnight is not being challenged. There are two seats up for election among the commissioners. Both incumbents, Michael Kline and Paul Stark have filed. Kelly Alexander Benson, general manager at Port House Grill, is challenging them.
The election will be held on Monday, February 13 from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m. at the town hall.
Charlestown also has an election coming up. The election is set for Tuesday, March 7 from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m. at town hall. The terms of incumbents Joe Letts and Bruce Hechmer are up for election. Letts and political newcomer Jack Kronner have both filed.
Those who wish to run for office must file by February 2 at 5 p.m. Qualifications
include living in the town for one year, be a registered voter, and live within town limits. You must also be at least 21 years old.
Must register to vote at least 30 days before the election. If you are already registered in the county, a separate registration for the town is not required.
