Chesapeake City is gearing up for a busy summer on the water.
One event which will get your heart pumping is the seventh annual Chesapeake City Canal Race 5K Run/Walk.
The event is set for Saturday, June 27. Warm up begins at 6 a.m. The race begins at 8 a.m. This is a rain or shine event.
Those who register prior to June 22, can save some green. It costs $22 before that date. After June 22, cost is $27 per entrant.
Registration forms are available at www.chesapeakecity-md.gov or at Chesapeake City Town Hall.
Trophies and awards will be presented to the overall top male and female. There are also age categories- under 18, 19-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, and 60 and over. No strollers, rollerblades, dogs, or wearing or headphones is permitted.

Those attending are asked to bring a non-perishable food item for the Chesapeake City Ecumenical Association Food Pantry.
Beginning in July, Sundays in Chesapeake City will be filled with music.
The Summer Sundays in the Park Concert Series is returning.
The concerts will be held in Pell Gardens from 6-8 p.m. Those attending are asked to bring a blanket or chair for sitting.
The line-up is as follows: July 5 - Cecil County Community Band, July 12 - 21 Horses, July 19 - Acoustic Turnpike, July 26 - The Serinaders, August 2 - The Salamanders, August 9 - Charlie Hitman, August 16 - Day Tripper, August 23 - Summit Hill Bluegrass, August 30 - Larry Tucker Band.
