So far, a half dozen people have jumped at the chance to spend $100 for a day of fun in Cecilton.
That's the number of people who have rented the town pavilion for upcoming spring and summer gatherings.
Town clerk Kim Roland said the rental includes electric, running water, and grills. This year, a handicapped-accessible portable toilet will be available.
"There's been people renting it. What we've had so far is about average. Using it is big around graduation. People also rent it for birthday parties and baby showers," said Roland. Family reunions are also held at the site.
"We have several 16-foot picnic tables but we've had vandalism. Now the water is locked because it was left running," said Roland.
The portable toilets will be in place within the next few weeks. The rentals are available through October. Trash and recycling cans are also on site. People are asked to supply their own trash bags.
Charlestown also takes park reservations. Town residents can rent Veteran's Park for $25. Non-residents pay $50. Long Point Park is available for $100 fee. But Long Point is a popular wedding spot and people reserve that through The Wellwood.
Already, all Saturdays and one Friday in June are reserved at Long Point. May and September are also filled. There are a few Saturdays left in July, August, and April.
