The annual benefit auction, which helps support the Cecil County 4-H Youth Development Program. is set for Saturday, December 2.
The auction will be held at the Fair Hill Natural Resources Area's Walls Activity Hall, Elkton.
The doors open at 5:30 p.m. There will be a live auction and a silent auction. The live auction begins at 7 p.m. The silent auction ends at 8:30 p.m.
There will be a large variety of items up for auction. According to April Barczewski, Extension Educator for Cecil County's 4-H Youth Development, donations are still coming in. Right now, there are four one day Disney Hopper passes on the auction block. There are lots of themed gift baskets - including those filled with children's items, movie night, and cooking items. There is signed sports memorabilia, animal feed. Phillies, Orioles, signed art prints, sports jerseys, dolls, figurines, and more.
The way the auction works, is that the 4-H club whose member got the auction donation gets half the proceeds brought in by the item. The other half goes to the county 4-H. The county proceeds pay for various things. One of which is to offset the costs for those 4-H members who qualify to compete in various events and contests across the nation.
There is no admission free to attend this event. Food and drinks will be available for purchase. Payments for items can be made with cash, check, and credit card. All proceeds support the local 4-H Clubs and the Cecil County 4-H Youth Development Program.
