Man charged with taping dog’s snout
A New York resident was charged with animal cruelty in East Drumore Township on September 7, Trooper Chad Dohner reported.
According to the trooper, Douglas Koch, 48, of Rochester, N.Y., had duct taped his dog's snout to keep the dog from barking. The incident occurred at 340 Blackburn Rd.
State police also reported the following incidents in the Southern End:
BURGLARY - Someone got into the basement of the home at 1408 Furniss Rd. between February 1 and August 22 and made off with 15 fishing rods, Trooper Matthew Schatzmann reported. The missing fishing tackle is worth $1,400.
DOG LAW - Kristopher W. Perdue, 23, of Peach Bottom, was cited for numerous dog law violations on July 19, Trooper First Class Kelly Osborne reported. The incident occurred along Jubilee Rd., the trooper said
COLLISION - One person was slightly injured in a single car collision on Marticville Rd. south of Silver Mine Rd. at 5:26 p.m. on September 2, Trooper Michael Artale reported.
According to the trooper, the car's driver, Dakota W. Perry, 22, of Willow Street, was slightly injured; he did not require hospital treatment. Perry was cited for failing to drive at a safe speed, the trooper said.
WEAPONS - Prestin Rokicka, 22, of Pequea, was charged with possession of brass knuckles after police encountered him near the intersection of Frogtown Rd. and Marticville Rd. on September 3, Trooper Anthony Urban reported.
VANDALISM - Someone threw pumpkins at two mailboxes at 396 Penncroft Rd. South at 9 p.m. on September 6, Trooper Jason Fritz reported. Damage was estimated at $40.
THEFT - Mail, including several checks, was stolen from the mailbox at Susquehanna Truck Service, 848 Lancaster Pike, between August 10 and 13, Trooper Trevor Gauntlett reported. The suspected thief attempted to cash the checks in Maryland, the trooper said. U.S. Postal Service inspectors are also investigating the incident.
DUI - James Joyce, 41, of Conestoga was charged with driving under the influence after being stopped for vehicle violations at the intersection of Clearfield Rd. and Truce Rd. at 12:32 a.m. on August 31, Trooper Matthew Schatzmann reported.
DUI - Guy Treszi, 38, of Lancaster, was charged with driving under the influence after state police stopped his vehicle at the intersection of Truce Rd. and Lancaster Pike (Rt. 272) at 9:27 p.m. on September 2, Trooper Michael Artale reported.
