Scott Peiffer has never been a borough police officer.
But he's held most other appointed positions in Quarryville, starting at age 13 when he was cleaning toilets and emptying trash cans at Huffnagle Park.
On Thursday, January 2, he will take on another job when he becomes the borough's manager.
There were no injuries when an SUV and a compact car collided on Beaver Valley Pike (Rt. 222) north of Old Rd., Strasburg Township, at 3:16 p.m. on December 20, Trooper George Lockhart reported.

Deadline nears to pay property taxes
By November 1, property owners still owed the Solanco School District nearly $3 million in taxes for the current fiscal year.
That's about average, district business manager Sandra Tucker said last week.
Driver uninjured when SUV flips
There were no injuries in a one-vehicle collision on Kirkwood Pike (Rt. 472), Colerain Township, at 12:54 p.m. on December 9, Trooper Michael Artale reported.
According to the trooper, Elsie G. Estes, 20, of Oxford, was driving south when she tried to pass two vehicles. Her Toyota RAV4 hydroplaned on water between Farmdale Rd. and Sproul Rd.

Schools offering free clothing, shoes
A free resource is available for Solanco School District students and their families who are seeking gently worn clothing and shoes.
Five district schools have a Swappe Shoppe in their building where families can shop for clothes and shoes donated by members of the community.
Senior center slates Christmas activities
Edna Miller has been working on Christmas crafts.
In addition to those she will give away, Miller has been helping make seasonal candle globes as a fundraiser for the Next Gen Senior Center.
"It was one of our activities and I enjoyed doing them," she said.
Fire damages campground cabin
An accidental fire heavily damaged a cabin at Yogi Bear Campground, Blackburn Rd., East Drumore Township, on Saturday night, December 7.
The fire was reported shortly after 7 p.m.
Sharon Rosevich and David Burry needed a place to set up a seasonal fundraiser.
Deb and Ken Helm had land available at their Britain Hill vineyard and venue location.
"There are several reasons we did this," Deb Helm said. "We love rescue dogs and when we did a followup of Atlas [Assistance Dogs] we became aware of how much demand there is for service dogs.
"But until we got involved, we had no idea what a service dog can do. A service dog can give independence to a child or a veteran. One of the first ones we learned about was a Marine veteran who could not go out in public until a service dog was available to her. We watched that dog heal her."
Someone stole more than $800 worth of tools from a storage container at 1989 Lancaster Pike (Rt. 272), Trooper Scott Prushinski reported.
According to the trooper, the unsecured storage container at the rear of the property was entered sometime between November 30 and December 7.

Julia Gavin was crowned Miss Solanco 2020 following the annual scholarship pageant at Solanco High School on Saturday evening, November 30.
Gavin, daughter of Matthew and Laura Spiller of Quarryville, sang during the talent portion of the contest; her platform was about saving the arts. She was sponsored by the Southern Lancaster County Chamber of Commerce.
A tree for veterans
Quarryville will have a second public Christmas tree this year.
One grows on a traffic island in the TownsEdge Shopping Village parking lot. The second now stands next to the entrance of Quarryville's Memorial Park, a location chosen to recognize the service of the region's veterans and the sacrifices made by those killed in the nation's wars.
Kiera Hashinger and Mia Truett don't plan to walk to Washington, D.C., next summer.
But they will need shoes to get there - at least 26,000 pair of them if they are to raise the money the need to attend the June, 2020, Junior National Young Leaders Conference.
