It didn't take long for Perryville's Claire Hudson to get an edge on her sister Kendie.
Claire Hudson scored just 49 seconds into Monday night's game at the University of Delaware as the Panthers went on to a 4-0 triumph over the North East squad coached by Kendie Hudson. The Rising Sun football team had to wait an extra 25 minutes to use a play they'd been planning for four days.
It was well worth the wait. A lightning storm pushed back the kickoff for the North East's Homecoming game, but there was no stopping the Tigers (2-4) on this night. The Perryville boys soccer team won three games last week including a 2-0 triumph over visiting Bohemia Manor Friday afternoon.
The Rising Sun volleyball team remained undefeated by sweeping Harford Tech Thursday night.
The Tigers prevailed 25-18, 25-7, 25-9. The end result was impressive but ultimately somewhat unsatisfying.
Rising Sun's girls soccer team played visiting C. Milton Wright to a 2-2 draw Thursday afternoon. Tying one of the state's premier programs is a notable accomplishment but the Tigers were left to wonder what could have been. The Rising Sun golf team won a three-team tournament Wednesday at Chesapeake Bay Golf Club - Rising Sun.
Bohemia Manor dominated the Chesapeake Division cross country meet, taking both team and individual titles Tuesday, October 6, in Havre de Grace.
SLIDESHOW: The Tigers' Jack Stewart's catch and run in Monday night's loss to visiting Elkton. The Rising Sun football team lost 21-9 to visiting Elkton Monday night, October 5.
Trailing 14-9, the Tigers (1-3) drove down to the Elks' 23 before Kyair Cook picked off a pass. Travon Downs scampered 39 yards for a TD on the last play of the third quarter to make it 21-9. The Elks' defense dominated in the fourth quarter. The Perryville volleyball team swept visiting North East Friday.
