Rising Sun defeated the Elks at home, 15-8 on April 5. "Brown single-handedly, kept us in the game. Our entire team owes this win to him, because with out his play, we (would) go into half-time down a few a goals," said Rising Sun head coach Justin Parker in an email. The Tigers and the Elks had a tight game through the first half with the Elks leading by one goal. Perryville girls track and field team finished first and the boys were second in a home three-team meet last Tuesday, April 4. The girls (98.5) topped Bo Manor (44) and Elkton (39.5). Kailee McCutchen claimed the two hurdle events. Jarah Cevis won the shot put and was second in the discus whith her teammate Christen Dodson took first. Ellie Kuhn prevailed in the triple jump. Mckayla Reeves captured the high jump. Megan O'Neal won the long jump for Elks For Bo Manor, Kristen Walz swept the 400 and 800 meter distance races. Elle Meyer took the 1600 and Aubrey Preseke triumphed in the 3200. The Elks' took two of the relay races, Rae'oni Garnett, Kyla Wilson, Sonali Shahm and Makayla Peterson, combined triumphed in the 4x200 and the 4x400. In the boys team competition, Bo Manor (83) defeated Perryville (73), and Elkton (27). North East boys track and field team finished first in a three-team meet at Rising Sun High School last Tuesday, April 4. The boys (83) defeated Patterson Mill (65), and Rising Sun (35).
The Indians took two of the of the four relay races. Jordan McCollum, Sean McGowan, Taylor Danglade, and Jalen Giles, combined to win the 4x100 relay. Michael King, Sean McGowan, Kevin Dennis, and Michael Duong collectively won the 4x200 relay. |
