New Solanco tennis coach Bob Walrath has a couple simple goals for the season.
"I want us to get more competitive and continue to grow," Walrath said. "We have a young team. They are coachable people who want to learn. If we keep pushing ourselves in practice I'll be very content with that. They've done everything I've asked and I'm pleased with the progress."
Returning player and captain Faith Redcay will be the number one singles player when the Mules open the season Tuesday, August 20, at home vs. Octorara at 11 a.m.
Freshman Olivia Baker will also be near the top of the lineup. Michaela Brenneman (captain), Perla Benitez, Layla Ly, Sophia Stoltzfus, Grace Pursel, Skylar Eshelman, and Sidney Beyer are competing for spots in the starting lineup. Madison Hanna, Shelby McFalls, Reagan Mendez, Belle Rutt, and Adriana Santiago (captain) are trying to work their way up the ladder.
"Wins and losses will take care of themselves," said Walrath. "We're working on getting better."
