New Solanco tennis coach Amanda Carello has high hopes for her squad.
Junior Marissa Witmer will lead the Mules with help from classmates Thea McCullough and Emily Duvall.
Solanco will also rely on seniors Erin Gerhart and Faith Reimold.
The Solanco field hockey team is young but does have some experience.
The Mules have 16 sophomores but only three seniors. "About half of this year's varsity team had significant varsity time last year," coach Dawn Kreider said.
"If we work very hard and learn to play with relentless intensity, we will do well and be competitive in our league play."
After a breakthrough season last fall, the Solanco boys soccer team is looking forward to proving it wasn't an aberration.
The Mules were 8-8-1 overall last season, 7-6-1 in Section Two. It was the school's first winning section record in 22 years and third best record in the program's history.
