Solanco High School senior Thomas Haines has signed a letter of intent to wrestle with Ohio State. Haines, seen here with his parents, David and Sandy Haines, will major in business and finance. Haines has won three PIAA state wrestling championships. Following his victory last season, he became the 40th wrestler to win three state titles. If he repeats this year, he will be one of fewer than a dozen wrestlers to win four state titles. He is excited about the coming season and his opportunities at Ohio State, Haines said Friday morning.
Janelle Garber is working on changing her wardrobe from blue and white to black and gold.
Garber, the new girls basketball coach at Solanco, played and coached at the Mules' Section Two rival Elizabethtown. She spent the past two season as the Bears' head coach while working at Gears Recreation in Elizabethtown.
Solanco junior Noah Brady finished 132nd in a time of 17:45 at the PIAA State Championships cross country meet Saturday.
