Solanco's track and field teams lost to host Lampeter-Strasburg Monday, April 1.
"Both teams went up against good teams," Mules coach Ivan Haines said. "Both teams are trying to overcome the lack of experience. We are trying to focus on individual goals."
The girls fell 117-33.
Alana Yoder won the 100 in her first try (13.2 seconds), captured the 200 (27.1), and anchored the 4 x 400 relay team (4:28) also comprised by Faith Roth, Jadan Forren, and Jenna Brown.
Maddie Mosley prevailed in the shot put (29 feet, 1 inch).
"The bright spot was that over 10 personal bests were earned by the team," said Haines.
The Solanco boys lost 108-42.
"The boys team also went up against a good team with several good individuals who matched up with our athletes," Haines said.
Angel Daniels won the 400 meters (54.7) and teamed with Colin Althoff, Austin Wood, and Dom Messano to taker the 4 x 400 relay (3:36).
Messano earned a first in the triple jump (39 feet, 4 inches).
"This group of juniors is improving and are earning many points for the team," said Haines. "As with the girls, the boys lack experience. Bright points include Ryan Vanover and Colin Althoff. Both continue to improve. It was also nice to see the team earning over 15 personal bests."
