Rising Sun boys lacrosse coach Chris King says his squad is ready to reap the rewards of its hard work. "We have a senior-laden team," King said. "The expectations are higher than last year. They have been working for it. They are not expecting anyone to give anything to them. They are putting in the work to make it happen." Senior Brad Alexander, the school's all-time leading point producer, will lead the attack. Last year, Alexander scored 29 goals and recorded a team-high 29 assists.
Senior Connor Burkhardt led the Tigers with 39 goals last spring. Senior Wyatt Griffith (13 goals in 2015) and classmate Kalman Szkalak (four) will contribute. Austin Philistine (18 goals) and Steven Szkalak (five goals) will anchor the midfield. King has confidence in his seven offensive midfielders including Connor McCoog, Phil Hurm, Quinn Struble (a transfer from Calvert Hall), and Kai Brewer. Ryan Yashinskie could play midfield or attack. Senior Zac Palmer and sophomore Joe Jones are the Tigers' top defensive midfielders. Senior Wyatt Kennedy brings a wealth of talent and experience at longstick midfielder. Sophomore Tyler Scott can play longstick middie or defense. Senior Bryan Butler will lead the distance with help from Jacob Gehron, and Ethan Greene. Alex Miller is slated to see a lot of action. Josh Worrilow adds depth. Noah Jones returns in goal. "Noah has worked hard to improve and he has been looking good. We have confidence in him." Garrett Jolley could also get some starts between the pipes. "Ever since last season ended, the seniors have been pushing me to push them," King said. "They've put in the work to have a successful season." Comments are closed.
