After being outplayed for parts of the first half, North East girls soccer coach Matt Roberts elected to move junior midfielder Savannah Dorey to more of an attacking role.
The decision paid off when Dorey scored midway through the second half to help the Indians nip Edgewood 1-0 Wednesday, October 3, on a natural grass field at Calvert Regional Park. The Perryville volleyball team swept visiting Bohemia Manor 25-21, 25-11, 25-21 Tuesday, October 2.

Linton "Trash Man" Mercer tallied twice to lead the Rising Sun boys soccer team to a 4-1 triumph over host Perryville in the rain Thursday night. "Linton is up top because of his speed," Rising Sun coach Ken Ulrich said. "And he is what we call the 'Trash Man'. He cleans up anything up top with his speed and that's what he does. He knows his job and he does it well." The North East field hockey team topped Tome 2-1 at Calvert Regional Park Thursday, September 27.
Fallston scored three goals in the last 16 minutes of the first half to down the Rising Sun field hockey team 3-1 at Calvert Regional Park Wednesday, September 26.
Serving in volleyball is all about risk and reward.
