The Rising Sun girls finished fifth and the Bohemia Manor boys were sixth at the Upper Chesapeake Bay Athletic Conference cross country championship meet in Churchville Tuesday, October 23. Bel Air (25), with runners placing in the third through eighth positions, won the girls team competition. C. Milton Wright (74) led by race winner Haley Cummins and runnerup Lindsay Perry, was second followed by Edgewood (77), North Harford (121), Rising Sun (143), Harford Tech (174), Elkton (193), Bohemia Manor (202), Fallston (229), Perryville (268), Patterson Mill (272), and North East (296).
Rising Sun's Emma Cease was the top county finisher in 12th place, one spot ahead of teammate Heather Horst. Elkton's Sadie Marra was 18th, two positions in front of her teammate Venus Abosede with the Elks' Esther Greenblatt 23rd. The Tigers' Hannah Matthews placed 31st, ahead of Bohemia Manor's Aubrey Preske and Reagan Goldsmith. The Eagles' Maya Osborne was 38th to lead a pack of four county runners including Leah Clark of Perryville, Rising Sun's Emilie Marsinko, and North East's Brooke Ayers. C. Milton Wright (79) captured the boys team competition followed by Fallston (83), Bel Air (90), Harford Tech (114), North Harford (125), Bohemia Manor (131), Elkton (188), Aberdeen (190), Perryville (209), Patterson Mill (241), Edgewood (295), Rising Sun (321), and North East (392). Caleb Zylka of Bel Air won the race. Reigning 1A state champion Zach Laird of Bohemia Manor was fifth with teammate Alex Longeway eighth. Perryville's Brian Keenan finished 12th with Elkton's Cameron Spaeth 13th and Nolan Clancy 18th. Bohemia Manor's Ryan Fitzwater was 23rd, Perryville's Eric Phillips 25th, and the Elks' Tyler Vega 29th. Comments are closed.
