Perryville's girls won a three-team track and field meet at Elkton Thursday afternoon. The Panthers (78) prevailed over Rising Sun (64), and the host Elks (40). Brooke Doane triumphed in the long jump and triple jump and teamed with Katelyn Broughman, Alyssa Conway, and Autumn Estep to take the 4 x 200 relay. Estep won the 100 hurdles. Tara Rychwalski, Chloe McGraw, Alex Stanley, and Rachel DiFuccia combined to prevail in the 4 x 400 relay. Jarah Cevis (shot put), Christen Dodson (discus), and Paiton Kelly (pole vault) each won a field event. For Rising Sun, Mikaela Berg swept the 100 and 200. Cameryn Dugger (300 hurdles), Danielle Lee (800), Julia Herrmann (1600), and Alanah Bell (3200) each recorded a victory. Herrmann, Teresa Reid, Emma Wheeler, and Lee won the 4 x 800 relay. For Elkton, Tara Brown captured both the 300 hurdles and the high jump and teamed with Dysha Jones, Makayla Peterson, and Emily Caldarelli to win the 4 x 100 relay. In the boys competition, Elkton (87) topped Rising Sun (60), and Perryville (36). Peter Olakunle (100, 200) and Malachi Peterson (400, 800) and Kyair Cook (110 hurdles, high jump) each claimed two individual events to pace the Elks. Zyphere Ruffin (300 hurdles), George Davis (pole vault), and Isaiah Vass (long jump) each won an event. Ruffin, Jashaun Stalk, Peterson, and Vass teamed to take the 4 x 400 relay. For Rising Sun, Jacob Cohen, Colin Cascio, Ryan Hendrickson, and Ivan Herrera won both the 4 x 100 and 4 x 200 relays. Charles Thurston prevailed in the shot put and Bryce Calhoun claimed the triple jump. Perryville swept the distance races with Gabe Gonzalez winning the 1600 and Brian Keenan triumphing in the 3200. Ben Douty, Matt Salvatore, Jacobo Negron, and Keenan combined to win the 4 x 800 relay. Ben Kuhn captured the discus. Comments are closed.
